Have you ever felt as though your life should mean more, but couldn’t quite say what that “more” is? Surveys tell us many people struggle with the absence of meaning in their lives. But what if meaning isn’t something you chase; it’s already there within you?
You Arrived With a Promise
Every human life begins with a spirit embodied in a body. You may call this spirit your soul, your eternal self, or simply your true being. Along with it comes a Promise, …unique expression of life that is you.
This Promise isn’t about learning or growing into something better. It isn’t about fixing what you think is broken. It’s about peeling back the limiting beliefs that restrict you, and letting the self that is already complete unfold.
Offering Shapes Experience
Every thought, word, belief, attitude, action and emotion you put into your world is your offering. And you experience yourself through that offering.
- Offer anger—you feel and experience anger.
- Offer compassion—you feel and experience compassion.
In this way, your everyday life is your inner frequency. You’re not at the mercy of outside events; you are constantly experiencing yourself and your reaction to the world you believe you perceive around you.
Living Your Promise Awarefully
Most people tend to either live in quiet alignment with their Promise or resist it. Awareness changes everything. When you recognize and declare your Promise, life takes on a direct sense of purpose. Declaring means using carefully chosen words that describe the Promise you are, and living that in your life.
It isn’t about adding new layers to yourself. It’s about shedding what hides you from yourself, …and stepping forward as who you truly are.
An Exercise in Proud Moments
Here’s one way to begin uncovering your Promise:
Think of five events, circumstances, or outcomes in your life that you are proud of, not because you accomplished them, but because they stand on their own as moments worth being proud of.
Write them down. Then ask: What pattern runs through these moments? What values do they reveal?
That pattern points toward the Promise you’ve carried all along.
A Life Already Waiting
You don’t need to learn how to live your Promise—you need only to release the restraints you’ve accepted and let yourself be. The authority to live as you truly desire has always been yours.
The question is: will you step forward awarefully and live it?
